Which One is Right For Your Library?

We encourage you to choose one of the Plus versions of NoveList:

  • Including nonfiction increases the amount of titles available in the database by 50%.
  • Nonfiction is popular with readers, especially young readers. The narrative nonfiction titles in NoveList K-8 Plus appeal to readers who want to read engaging true accounts.
  • Nonfiction is important to students, parents, and teachers. Many classroom assignments rely on nonfiction, and finding the right book for each reader is critical. This is especially true with the new Common Core State Standards adopted by most states -- these are standards that rely heavily on nonfiction reading.Read more about how you can use NoveList Plus to find Common Core resources.

Nonfiction that Reads Like Fiction

The nonfiction included in NoveList K-8 Plus is meant to appeal to readers reading for pleasure. That means we don’t include every kind of nonfiction – no textbooks, for example. But we do include biographies, narrative nonfiction, and other kinds of creative nonfiction that readers enjoy.

Note: we also offer NoveList Plus, which is a very similar to K-8 Plus, but includes reading recommendations for all ages.
