Connecting to Readers Through Book Clubs

Whether you're joining a new book club, starting a new book club, or a seasoned book club leader, NoveList has resources to help you. And we're excited to be sponsoring ALA's Book Club Central--and getting more books into the hands of more readers.

Find Books for Every Club

Finding books for book clubs can be hard. Here are 5 places to start:

  1. Explore new genres with A Guide to Genres and Book Discovery.
  2. Go beyond genre and find books using the appeal terms found in The Secret Language of Books.
  3. Use our Book Club Helpers search strategy to build a custom search.
  4. Check out the "Book Club Best Bets" Recommended Reads List (found inside NoveList).
  5. Talk it out with our Book Discussion Guides. Look for them under Quick Links (found inside NoveList).

Get the Word Out

Attract a steady stream of new members by making sure people know about your clubs. Sign up for our Club Scene newsletter to get access to free ideas and printables like our LGBTQIA Book Club brochure (LibraryAware customers can edit the printables). We've even made a special bookmark in honor of Sarah Jessica Parker and Book Club Central -- download a copy to hand out at your library. And check out our recent blog posts aimed at book clubs. We're here to help you!
