Ah, yes, it's the beginning of May, and we know that summer reading is on your mind. It's the busiest time of the year, and soon, patrons will be coming in wanting books for road trips, summer vacations on the beach, and the loooong stretch when many kids are out of school.

I had a blast listening in and live tweeting at our recent webcast: Yes you can! Readers’ advisory for everyone, and if you attended, I hope you did too. One of the highlights for me was the interactive idea exchange happening in the chat. Attendees were swapping ideas left and right, and I couldn’t resist compiling some of these ideas to share.

Professional journals stream across my desk all month long, while emails flow constantly into my inbox, and they’re all doing the same thing – talking about upcoming books. Whether they’re offering reviews (Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, etc.), or promoting a book or three (Random House), or relaying reader insight (Book Riot), they and all the other resources I use provide a glut of information about what’s being published.

Help audiobook fans find the perfect listen
Listen up, can you hear that? It’s the sound of the exploding popularity of audiobooks. In 2015, 55 million Americans listened to an audiobook -- that’s 41% of all Americans. In 2014, over 25,000 audiobook titles were published. And those numbers keep growing. Audiobooks are on the rise, and there’s no sign of slowing down.
