Changes coming to the NoveList Book Squad

Changes coming to NoveList Book Squad

The NoveList Book Squad began three years ago as a way for us to share readers’ advisory information to help you with your day-to-day work and we are continuing with that mission but are making a few tweaks to simplify. We know that you are flooded with information every day, so we are streamlining the number of newsletters and issues we send. This means less clutter in your inbox and more valuable information packed into every issue.

The good news is that if you’re already a subscriber, you don’t have to do a thing. Just sit back and the newsletters will continue to come your way. But if you’re curious, here are the specific things we’re changing up:

  • Genreland, Beyond Genre, and RA Tips will be merged into one newsletter named Engaging Adult Readers. This will be a one-stop shop for guidance on all things readers’ advisory for adults—including resources on genres, programming, book clubs, and more!
  • Similarly, our kid-focused newsletters, KidLit and TeenLit Connection will become Reaching Young Readers. You’ll continue receiving the same informative, entertaining content you’ve grown to love from our team of youth readers’ advisory experts, just in one newsletter instead of two!
  • Navigating Nonfiction will continue sharing information on a wide variety of nonfiction topics (like sparking joy at your library or the FYRE festival), but will now cover all ages, not just adults.
  • Three of our newsletters—Diverse Reading, School KidLit, and Keeping Up with NextReads—won’t be changing at all.
  • Club Scene is retiring as a distinct newsletter, but we will incorporate the same book club discussion tips, reading suggestions, and guidance throughout all the rest of our Book Squad newsletters.

Remember if you’re already a subscriber, do absolutely nothing!

If you’d like to subscribe, just head on over our sign-up page to choose the newsletters that interest you.
