A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to see Judy Freeman at one of her all day workshops. The saying “so many books, so little time” definitely applies here as Judy talked about fiction, nonfiction and the connections between books new and old. I have been to several of Judy’s “What’s New in Children’s Literature” programs, and I always come out energized. I walk away with a handbook of titles and many new ideas of how to incorporate them in my work. If you have a chance to attend one of Judy’s Bureau of Education & Research (BER) workshops, it is definitely worth it!

For anyone who can travel to New Jersey, there are 3 upcoming opportunities to attend a unique series of workshops that Judy gives, and this year is the 28th Annual Winners! Conference. Judy packs a lot of books and activities into those hours. To get all of the information go to www.JudyReadsBooks.com and click on the big yellow button.
