In the winter she curls up around a good book and dreams away the cold.
--Ben Aaronovitch, Broken Homes

As we head towards winter ourselves, many of us will be spending a lot more time indoors. On days where you yourselves can’t head couch-wards, at least you can recommend reading options to your readers.

  • In There Are More SEALs in Romance Fiction than in the US Navy, Mary K. Chelton provides a variety of selections for your romance readers. Resourceful, racy, and romantic!
  • Suzie Wilde outlines several characteristic that might appeal to those who prefer to listen to their books in Addicted to Audiobooks. These readers are hooked not only by the story but the narration as well.
  • Juvenile Content Specialist Kathy Stewart spreads the word about our new Keeping Up pages, each filled with lists, genres and article information. So far there are pages dedicated to Mystery, Fantasy, Romance, and Dystopian Fiction with more on the way.
  • Finally, the tips provided by Elena Owens in A Blueprint for Grant Seeking outlines the process for developing a winning grant-seeking model.

Whether your current focus is on setting up programs or making recommendations for your readers, the November/December issue of RA News will get you started.

The above quote is from book four in Aaronovitch's Rivers of London series. London Police constable/sorcerer's apprentice Peter Grant investigates crime while dealing with a variety of mythical creatures. If you prefer to listen, the narrator, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith does a magnificent job of providing the characters with distinct voices as well as capturing the series' witty, dark tone.
