Visual Search
As more diversified users around the world connect with EBSCOhost databases on a daily basis, individual research needs evolve and change. To accommodate these varying requirements, EBSCO offers an expanding myriad of databases, and powerful tools to efficiently and effectively search these vast resources, including its Visual Search user interface, with a choice of two styles designed to aid visual learners and allow users to gain a graphical perspective and interact with search results. Visual Search users can easily gain an overall understanding of the depth and breadth of a result set without having to page through hundreds of individual results.
With traditional searching, more often than not, users find their articles on the first page of the Result List, despite the fact that the most optimum result might not be on the first page. Now, large data sets can be explored as a series of blocks or columns. In both Visual Search styles, results are stacked by Publication or Subject, sorted by Relevance or Date, and can be filtered using a Date Range slider bar. A results navigator and map allow users to move smoothly through the search process. Users can drag and drop articles into a Collect Articles section from which they can print, email, save or add the articles to folders.
