NRC Features & Functionality
NRC provides many features and functionality, including but not limited to the following:
Basic Search
Users can search the entire database by entering keywords in the Find field and then clicking on the Search button. NRC will display a Result List that is sorted by source type – for example, Quick Lessons, Skills, Evidence-Based Care Sheets, Drugs, etc.
Nursing Process Limiters
Users can search the database using the standard nursing process ADPIE.(Assessment, Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation). Nursing Process Limiters are used to clarify a search in NRC. Users can select one or multiple Nursing Process Limiters to rapidly target applicable content.
Advanced Search
Users can launch a CINAHL®-type search, and limit searches by document types, full-text, publication date, or source. Also browse CINAHL Headings or Indexes and other EBSCOhost databases that may be subscribed to by the institution.
Branding Opportunity
An institution's name, logo or trademark can be added to the interface. These images can appear in the upper-right corner (Institution's logo) of the interface or can be located at the bottom of select pages (branding).
Search Other Services
This feature provides access to medical resources outside of Nursing Reference Center, including other EBSCO databases or hospital-specific sites. These resources might include other EBSCOhost databases (if available), a hospital guidelines site, a hospital formulary site, or any other resources that are beneficial to nurses.
Personalized Department-Specific Folders
Users can store search results, persistent links to articles, images, saved searches, alerts, and Web pages to pull in the latest information needed on the floor and to create department-specific patient education packets.
