ULAKBIM Ulusal Veri Tabanları (UVT) – ULAKBIM Turkish National Databases collection is comprised of several important A&I databases which includes Turkish Medical Database, Turkish Social Sciences Database, Turkish Life Sciences Database, and Turkish Engineering and Basic Sciences Database.
Turkish Medical Database covers research articles in Turkish and additional languages in the field of Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmaceutics, Nursing etc.). All journals included are published in Turkey.
The database aims at providing rapid and efficient access to national literature in health sciences for researchers working in the field. The journals to be included in the database are evaluated by "ULAKBIM Turkish Medical Database Committee", according to the "Journal Evaluation Criteria" conforming to the international standards.
Turkish Social Sciences Database aims at providing quick and efficient access to the national literature in the field of social sciences for researchers in this field in Turkey. The database covers journals published in Turkey and are classified in 18 fields of study related to Social Studies. The journals included in the database are evaluated by "ULAKBIM Turkish Social Sciences Database Committee", according to the "Journal Evaluation Criteria" conforming to the international standards.
Turkish Life Sciences Database covers journals published in Turkey in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary and Biological Sciences. The journals included in the database have been selected according to the "Journal Evaluation Criteria" since 2001.
Turkish Engineering and Basic Sciences Database covers journals published in Turkey in the field of Basic and Applied Sciences and Engineering since 1992.
Additional Information on ULAKBIM
The Turkish Academic Network and Information Centre (ULAKBIM) was founded as a R&D Facility Institute of TÜBITAK(*) in 1996. ULAKBIM has been producing Turkish databases in various fields. Besides enabling researchers to search articles in Turkish scientific journals rapidly using a single interface, ULAKBIM also aims at improving the quality of scientific publications in Turkey, through the establishment of criteria and standards for creating these databases.
ULAKBIM also consists of the National Academic Network (ULAKNET) Unit and the Cahit Arf Information Center. ULAKNET is responsible for the formation and operation of research and education network infrastructure in Turkey, and the Cahit Arf Information Center provides information and document supply services nationwide.
