Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902)
"The heyday of woman's life is the shady side of fifty."
Elizabeth Cady Stanton was an influential social activist, who fought against slavery, and emerged as a leader within the women's rights movement in the United States. With her colleague Susan B. Anthony, Stanton laid the important philosophical and intellectual foundations for women's suffrage. Known for her energy and passion, Stanton is considered a model for 21st century feminism.
