John F. Kennedy (1917-1963)
35th President of the United States
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man."
John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States, the youngest man and only Roman Catholic to hold the office. Kennedy's youth, humor, and intellect inspired millions across the world to optimism and service. In the three years of his term, the charismatic president laid the groundwork for the Peace Corps and the Space Race, but also weathered the storm of the Cuban Missile Crisis and the building of the Berlin Wall. President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas in 1963.
