Ella Fitzgerald was America's pre-eminent jazz singer, possessing a three octave vocal range, and best known for her song "A Tisket A Tasket," her songbook series, and collaborations with Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong. In her lifetime she received 13 Grammy Awards, A National Medal of Art, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
