Acquiring eBooks Has Never Been Easier

Now, libraries have more options than ever for building or growing their eBook collections. Choose from an ownership model, a subscription model, a lease model, or any combination.

Ownership

The most popular model for acquiring eBook and audiobook titles is an ownership model. EBSCO offers flexible ownership options based on the number of simultaneous users that you want to establish for each title purchased. No matter which option you choose, the titles you purchase are owned in perpetuity—patrons can always access the title.

Unlimited Users
By purchasing eBooks with unlimited sim user access, patrons will never experience turn-aways or holds for titles in high demand.

Three Users
A great option for new and popular titles in high demand.

One User
Provide patrons access to titles, one user at a time.

Lease/Rental (coming soon)

For a percentage of the cost of a one user model, you can offer access to an eBook or audiobook title through a short-term lease. Short-term lease is a great option for libraries that need to fulfill a patron title request but do not wish to purchase the title outright. This rental option can also help libraries avoid turn-aways for titles with high check-out probability (such as a new release or an assigned reading title).

Short-term lease titles are available for one day, seven days, fourteen days or twenty-eight days.

Subscription

Select from large collections of titles in high-interest subject areas, updated monthly.

eBook Subscriptions (coming soon)
EBSCO is developing eBook anthologies that allow libraries to access continuously growing collections of eBook titles in high-usage subject areas. Subscriptions will include a large number of titles, will continue to expand each month, and new collections will be offered on an annual basis.

Audiobook Subscriptions
EBSCO, in partnership with leading audio publishers, offers an audiobook subscription program that allows libraries to subscribe to a growing collection of unabridged audiobooks for an annual fee with additional titles added at no additional cost. The annual subscription fee is based on library type and circulation or population served. Titles are delivered to users on an unlimited simultaneous access model. See sample collections.

Consortia

EBSCO provides discounts to member libraries of consortia purchasing eBooks or audiobooks on EBSCOhost®. Advantages of buying titles as a consortium member include:

  • Ability to enable unlimited access at a reasonable price
  • Libraries can own their own copy of the title
  • Libraries can choose the titles that best suit their users’ needs
