EBSCO Discovery Service locally indexes an enormous collection of metadata in order to provide the most comprehensive, customized experience for each subscribing library.  The reality, however, is that not all resources are compatible with discovery services, and some resources are not provided to Discovery services for harvesting. It is for these instances that EBSCO offers the seamless inclusion of EBSCOhost Integrated Search – to federate these resources as part of the Discovery experience.  The combination of EBSCO Discovery Service and EBSCOhost Integrated Search allows for access to all library resources.

EBSCOhost Integrated Search provides:

• A complement to EBSCO Discovery Service which extends the discovery experience to external resources that are not made available for local harvesting
• A next generation approach to federation, which eliminates the frustration caused by slow search results
• A fully integrated implementation as part of the EBSCO Discovery experience

  • EBSCOhost Basic and Advanced Search
  • Screen functionality
  • Subject facets
  • Publication facets
